Is that supposed to be a bad thing?

Because Stevie Nicks meets Out of Africa sounds like style perfection to me.

It was a nice birthday weekend, thanks for helping make it fun, friends. An old school DCist reunion, dancing at Dodge City, lunch at Black Salt, super mom stepping in to stage the shit out of my condo, tons of unbelievably nice help from Alyssa, football, market, shopping, oysters, a great birthday party with my birthday twin that we didn't have to clean up from (bars! how great are bars?), Scott Pilgrim and a Nats game with tons of upgrades made breaking into the final year of my 20s a super sweet experience. Looking forward to a year where I'm "set up for good shit," as Ficke and I decided will be what this upcoming year is all about.

UO: No No No

These "inspired by the 90s" looks UO is pushing are inspiring me to scrub my eyeballs clean. Shouldn't the rule of thumb for pilfering looks from the past be you only pick up the ones that actually looked good on people!?!?

Add it to the stretchtionary

When you put on your tight, high wasted, Mad Men inspired skirt in the morning, you think it's so fly and totally comfortable enough. But then come 5:00, deep breaths are trying and your rib cage feels like it's been the subject of some horrible form of torture. I will now call this syndrome: vintage boarding. Carry on.

These statements are true

The first best part about making a big awesome steak for dinner? Eating a big awesome steak. The second best part? The steak sandwich for lunch the next day.

I made a blog! A new one! A music blog!

I just launched a new project I've been working on, and I'm pretty pumped about it. It's a new music blog, Pinna Storm. The amazing Eric Uhlir designed the site for me and answered my 8,000 questions per minute, and I owe him the fanciest dinner ever. My goal with Pinna Storm is to have a more feature focused music blog; something that's less every-new-MP3-around, and more thoughtful posts from smart people talking about things they care about. Look for stuff from the contributors I love the most over the coming weeks.

Right now, I've got a ticket contest for this week's Arcade Fire/Spoon show, and an interview with Spoon's Britt Daniel. So head on over and check those out (and enter the contest!). Follow us on Twitter if you're so inclined, and please forgive the kinks. We're ironing them all out. I hope you like it!
